Hourly Rate

Rob's rate for legal services and mediation is $300 per hour, except for any special fees or flat-fee services described below.

Reduced rates may be arranged for clients of Legal Aid Society, Utah Legal Services, or at the law firm's discretion.

Note: Mediations that were scheduled before October 15, 2025 and which take place before January 1, 2026 will be billed at the previous rate of $250 per hour.

Mediation Minimum Fees

For half-day mediation sessions, there is a minimum fee of $300 per party. This fee covers the first two hours of mediation. Any time beyond the first two hours is billed in 5-minute increments and is due at the conclusion of the mediation.

For full-day sessions, there is a minimum fee of $600 per party. This fee covers the first four hours of mediation. Any time beyond the first four hours is billed in 5-minute increments and is due at the conclusion of the mediation.  

The cost of mediation is split evenly between the parties unless they have agreed otherwise in advance, in writing, and informed the mediator of the agreement.

Mediation Cancellation Fees & Policies

If mediation is cancelled with at least 7 day's notice, both parties' deposits will be refunded. If mediation is cancelled with less than 7 day's notice, the deposit will not be refunded.

If one party unilaterally cancels mediation with less than 7 days’ notice, or else does not show up on the day of mediation, that party will be charged the cancellation fees for both sides. The other side’s deposit will be refunded and they will not be charged any cancellation fee.

Prior to beginning mediation, all parties must sign an Agreement to Mediate.

Final Documents & Filing

We offer Final Documents & Filing for a flat fee of $1,000, plus the Court's mandatory filing fee of $333.

Special Fees

The first 1-hour consultation is a fee of $175. Following consultations are charged at the normal hourly rate.
